Catherine Zeta-Jones Uses Cavier to Clean Her Hair

Catherine Zeta-Jones doesn't like shampoo and conditioner. She smears on truffles and caviar on her hair. The Beluga caviar is apparently flown in from Iran five days ahead of her treatments at a beauty salon in South Kensington.

At £200 a time, just for the fish eggs, looking good does not come cheap. But she credits the gourmet delights for giving her long brown tresses an unbeatable shine.

"Catherine discovered the caviar treatment last summer and was astounded by the difference it made to her hair," said a source.

"She has an incredibly rich and vibrant natural hair colour but the creamy, almost oily nature of caviar really brings this out, making the colour even richer and making it so much more glossy. The eggs are packed with omega-3 fatty acids necessary for the formation of structural proteins. It is these proteins that repair dry and damaged hair and smooth over any split ends."

The two-hour pampering treatment at the celebrity salon, Hari's, also includes a complimentary glass of champagne and caviar canapes to nibble on.

Miss Zeta-Jones's hair is washed with a truffle-based shampoo, then smeared with the caviar, which is combed through and left to set. The sturgeon roe are liquidised prior to use, which is said to remove any odour.

Unlike many fad treatments, caviar is actually proven to work as a conditioning therapy. The essential fatty acids it contains produce collagen and keratin, two proteins vital for the appearance of sleek hair.

Victoria Beckham, was acting like an in-demand Oscar winner last week when her reps forced reporters to sign contracts before interviewing her.

The contract, which was obtained by TMZ, stipulated that all interviews with Victoria would be used for the "sole purpose of publicizing 'Victoria Beckham: Coming to America,' " her new reality show.

Last month, Jolie forced news outlets to sign a similar contract when she was promoting "A Mighty Heart."

Reps for Beckham did not return calls.

But other sources say Walters is still sore at Donald Trump for calling her a liar during his feud with O'Donnell and will never hire a Trump. "It ain't gonna happen," said one insider.

Former NFL player and Fox Sports broadcaster Bill Maas was charged with drug possession and weapons charges following a roadside safety check. The 45-year-old Maas and a passenger in his Hummer, Sarah J. Murphy, 27, were arrested late Friday by Illinois State Police. During the stop, police indicated Maas seemed nervous, and he agreed to a search of his vehicle. Police found a .22-caliber revolver, 5 grams of suspected marijuana, 6 grams of suspected cocaine and 28 pills of Ecstasy. Maas and Murphy were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Maas was also booked on a charge of unlawful use of a weapon.

Clay Aiken was involved in an airplane disturbance with another passenger Saturday while en route to Tulsa International Airport, a newspaper reported.
The dispute on a Continental Airlines flight took place between Aiken, who was traveling Saturday morning to a performance at the Brady Theater, and a woman, the Tulsa World reported for Sunday's editions.
Concertgoers who attended the former "American Idol" singer's show said afterward that Aiken joked on-stage about being beaten up by a girl earlier in the day.

FBI Special Agent Gary Johnson said there was a dispute between a male passenger and a woman on the flight but could not confirm the passenger was Aiken. He said the dispute was over the male passenger's foot resting on the woman's armrest. He said there was an allegation the woman gave the male passenger a "minor shove" during the argument.
"At that point the flight crew was able to resolve the situation," Johnson said.
Tulsa Airport Authority spokeswoman Alexis Higgins said the passengers were held until FBI agents arrived to interview them. No injuries were reported and no arrests were made.

Former stockbroker Michael Lohan - who has served two prison sentences for contempt of court, driving without a licence and attempted assault - is asking a court in New York State to order his estranged wife Dina to submit to the tests.
Mr Lohan claims Dina's drinking has contributed to Lindsay's recent troubles - which include her latest spell in rehab after crashing her Mercedes and being arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and possession of cocaine.
He is currently being divorced by Dina, and has said he believes his daughter's problems with alcohol can be traced back to his own past drug use.
He is also battling for visiting rights to see his two younger children, Aliana and Dakota.
Mr Lohan said: "I do not believe Dina should be drinking in front of our daughter.
"If she continues to do this, I guarantee Lindsay will fall apart again."

The Live Earth concerts, which start this Saturday, July 7, are also one last chance for Baby Boomers to relive the “flower power” activism of the ’60s. In a recent interview in Rolling Stone, former Vice President Al Gore invoked music icon Bob Dylan to promote the importance of these concerts. Citing Dylan’s ‘60 anthem “The Times They Are A-Changin’”. Gore rambled: “What’s the old Bob Dylan line? ‘Come senators, congressmen, please heed the call/Rattle your windows’ - what’s the rest of it? - ‘for the times they are a-changin’.”
But there’s just one problem with invoking Dylan to hype the global warming scare. And that is that Dylan himself has expressed skepticism — to the same magazine — to the notion that global warming is a catastrophe. When he was asked by Rolling Stone founder and publisher Jann Wenner in the magazine’s 40th anniversary issue if he worried about global warming, Dylan replied with an unexpected rejoinder. He asked Wenner, “Where’s the global warming? Madonna had better clean up her business before she starts cleaning up the world. The Material Mom is the headliner at tomorrow night's Live Earth show from London's Wembley Stadium. But guess what? For her, the word green means money, not the environment.
Madonna, who seems to be on top of all her many business endeavors, has actually invested about $2.7 million dollars in companies that are creating the destruction that Live Earth is trying to raise awareness about. She has invested in several companies named as the biggest corporate polluters in the world.
It's a cruel irony that Madonna's Ray of Light Foundation owns blocks of shares in companies that folks like Al Gore and Leonardo DiCaprio would like to see punished and rehabilitated for their attitudes toward global warming, climate control and basic pollution.

The companies include Alcoa, Ingersoll Rand, Weyerhaeuser, and several others associated with oil exploration, digging, and refining including British Petroleum, Schlumberger (a chief competitor of Halliburton), Devon Energy, Peabody Energy, Emerson Electric, Kimberly Clark and Weatherford International.
In 2002, the University of Massachusetts' Political Research Institute ranked Alcoa No. 9 on a list of all-time toxic American companies. And I don't mean toxic as in toxic bachelor. This is toxic as in air pollution.
The same UMass PRI study ranked Ford Motor Company at No. 7 on the Toxic Top 10. Northrop Grumman was No. 17. Weyerhaeuser was No. 42. Emerson Electric was No. 56. 3M Corp was No. 70. Kimberly Clark was No. 96.
You get the picture. Madonna's Ray of Light Foundation has stock in each of these companies. Her last published tax statement claims $4.2 million in corporate stock, and only $620,000 in donations to other charities including her pet project: the Kabbalah Center.
Madonna even has 175,000 shares of Ford Motor Company, which in 2005 — the last year for which Ray of Light Foundation's tax form is available — had only one hybrid SUV in its fleet. Even now, but certainly then, Ford was/is not known as a green company. The only obvious thing Ford and Madonna have in common is Detroit — although it could be argued that only Ford has retained its Midwest accent.
Take Weyerhaeuser Corporation, a "forest products" company that is basically in the business of killing trees for paper and wood for housing. In 2005, Madonna owed roughly 1,100 shares valued at an average price of $63. Since then, the share price is up to around $80. If her number of shares remained constant, she's made a nice profit over the last two years.

Avril Lavigne Keeps Stealing Songs

Avril Lavigne is being sued by U.S. songwriters who claim that her smash hit Girlfriend sounds suspiciously like a single they released in the 1970s.

Lavigne's manager, Terry McBride, said the pop starlet is one of several people named in a lawsuit filed July 2 that alleges striking similarities to the Rubinoos' song I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend.

McBride, also CEO of Nettwerk Music Group, dismissed the suit Wednesday as baseless, calling it a “case of legal blackmail.”

“Avril's a great songwriter and she's proving it over and over and over again,” he said from Vancouver.

He noted that Lavigne heard the Rubinoos song for the first time after learning of the suit.

“Avril's very, very sensible. She knows music well. If the chords had been similar, the melodies had been similar, lyrics had been similar, the meter, she would have gone, ‘Okay, I can see their point.' But nothing's similar.”

Songwriters Tommy Dunbar and James Gangwer filed suit in California's Northern Federal District Court and also name Lavigne's publishing company, Avril Lavigne Publishing, and Lavigne's songwriting partner, Dr. Luke, as defendants.

The Rubinoos song came out in 1979 and features the poppy chorus: “Hey, hey, you, you, I wanna be your boyfriend,” much like Lavigne's more up-tempo hit, which goes, “Hey, hey, you, you, I don't like your girlfriend.”

McBride said he hired a musicologist to study both tracks when he received a draft of the allegations about six weeks ago. “This one came back so solidly on our side it's just ridiculous,” he said.

Still, he admitted that he is considering settling the suit out of court if the costs of defending the case prove too high. He noted that a similar claim against Sarah McLachlan about 10 years ago cost the label roughly $500,000 to defeat in court. When Nettwerk tried to recoup the costs from the plaintiffs, they declared bankruptcy, he said.

The legal blow is just the latest in a series of jabs on the subject of Lavigne's songwriting.

As reported in Wednesday's Globe and Mail, Winnipeg songstress Chantal Kreviazuk last month suggested to Performing Songwriter magazine that Lavigne stole a song title for the disc The Best Damn Thing.

Kreviazuk told the publication that she had given Lavigne a song called Contagious two years ago and was surprised to see a track with the same name on Lavigne's current disc with a credit to Lavigne and songwriter Evan Taubenfeld.

McBride said Kreviazuk has never even heard the Lavigne track and retracted her statement.
“I know, personally, she regrets saying what she said,” he said, adding that the songs are nothing alike. “The interviewer obviously got Chantal on a bad day.”

The hit makers behind Sk8er Boi and I'm With You have also questioned Lavigne's writing credits.

Songwriter Lauren Christie of the production team the Matrix told Rolling Stone that Lavigne did little but “change a word here or there.” Lavigne has insisted they crafted the melodies and lyrics together.

McBride said the barrage of criticism is just part of being at the top of the charts. “Everyone comes after the stars. If Avril was not successful, they wouldn't really care,” he said.

Britney Spears has written a bitter poem entitled “Dear Mama” and delivered it to her mother, according to the Star. In the poem, Spears lamented “that she didn’t have a mom anymore and she couldn’t imagine a mother doing what she did to her child,” a source told the tab.

Spears delivered the verse, along with legal papers, to her mother on June 28 on the set of kid sister, Jamie Lynn’s television show, “Zoey 101.” The two are reportedly also battling over the affections of Jamie Lynn.

“Britney said, ‘Here Momma, I just wanted to see your face,’” a source told Star. “Then she got into her car and drove off. Lynne went into the trailer and broke down in tears.”

The CD reportedly contained recordings of phone conversations between Lynne Spears and Britney's estranged husband, Kevin Federline, in which the two are apparently working in cahoots.

Spears is forbidding her mother from seeing her two sons, and in one conversation, Lynne is said to be arranging to meet K-Fed and the boys, and says, “I have to be careful that Britney doesn’t find out!” The recordings were made by a private investigator, according to the tab.

In another call, Federline assured Spears’ mother that his court battle with the singer was going well. “Kevin told Lynne that he had everything under control,” adds the source. “He was just going to let Britney hang herself in court.”

Al Gore's son was arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of possessing marijuana and prescription drugs after deputies pulled him over for speeding, authorities say.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office has released this mug shot of Al Gore III following his arrest.

Al Gore III, 24, was driving a blue Toyota Prius about 100 mph on the San Diego Freeway when he was pulled over about 2:15 a.m., Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino said. The deputies said they smelled marijuana and searched the car, Amormino said. They found less than an ounce of marijuana along with Xanax, Valium, Vicodin and Adderall, which is used for attention deficit disorder, he said.
"He does not have a prescription for any of those drugs," Amormino said.
Gore was released from the men's central jail in Santa Ana after posting $20,000 bail. Amormino said Gore had yet to hire an attorney.

Hilton, who's back from Hawaii getting ready for her July Fourth party tonight in Malibu, was snapped by her paparazzi pals lounging in the sun in Maui and playing in the surf - an apparent bid to show the public that she could relax without partying.

But there are widely different accounts of what went on behind the scenes. Maui vacationers told us Hilton made herself almost as unwelcome with local resorts as she did with the news networks.

"Paris tried to check into the Four Seasons first, but they turned her down," said one guest at that hotel. "She then tried to stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani, but they turned her down, as well. She finally got a place at the Grand Wailea Resort, but that's because it was a Hilton. We all thought it was hilarious that the Hilton hotel was her third choice."

Perhaps the hotels were wary of her cozy relationship with photographers. "The paparazzi told us that Paris calls them herself," said a different source, who claimed a lensman told him, "We love her. She lets us know where she's going to be so we can take as many pictures as we want."

The Four Seasons guest reinforced that impression, noting, "She was shopping at the Wailea concourse, strutting around, posing for the cameras. It was disgusting."

But Hilton didn't tell the paparazzi what she was doing at night. "She slipped out of the hotel and went to the club at the Hyatt a couple of times," we're told. "She made friends with a couple of local guys and made out with them there. I guess she didn't want pictures of herself doing that."

"It's amazing," the annoyed vacationer continued. "She hasn't changed at all."

But Hilton's rep, Elliot Mintz, disputed just about everything. Her drives into and out of the Four Seasons and the Fairmont were a ruse to dodge the paparazzi, he said. And, "She never checked into the Grand Wailea. She spent all her time at a private residence" and hung out only with her ex-boyfriend, Stavros Niarchos.

Mintz said Hilton was at the Hyatt to celebrate a girlfriend's birthday. "And as for dropping dimes on the paparazzi, the last thing she needs is more paparazzi coverage."

The race for No. 1 between two singers who gained initial fame on TV was too close to call last week, but Miley Cyrus has clearly emerged the victor.

Although final numbers were not available Wednesday, Nielsen SoundScan reported that the two-CD "Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus" (Disney) had sold about 325,000 copies, topping Kelly Clarkson's "My December" (RCA), which was about 10,000 shy of hitting 300K in sales.

Projections after the first day of sales had the two discs selling in the range of 325,000-350,000 each. Still, the numbers for both artists are impressive.

Mischa Barton says she is single "for the first time" in her life and is fed up with dating "immature" men. The former 'O.C.' star is happy being single and says her next man will be funny and intellectual. She told Elle magazine: "I like an intellectual guy, because I love to read. If they like movies, books and music, we're pretty alright.
"And I'd like someone who's mature. God, I can't take another immature person!"
Barton, 21, previously dated Whitestarr rocker Cisco Adler before the pair split in February after nude pictures of him were found among Paris Hilton's belongings.

Hey everyone! I’m back from my much needed vacation in Maui. It was so beautiful and relaxing. But its good to be here again. I just want to thank you all for your letters of love and support.
