Lindsay Lohan Crashed, Arrested, Hurt and Coke Found in Her Car

Lindsay Lohan was cited for investigation of driving under the influence Saturday and was slightly injured when her Mercedes struck a curb, police told the Associated Press.

She and two other passengers were in her Mercedes convertible when it crashed at about 5:30 AM into a curb on Sunset Blvd., Sgt. Mike Foxen. "She was cited and released because she has been admitted to a local hospital for minor injuries," Foxen said.

After the crash, police say LiLo got into another car and was driven to Century City Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries that involved "something to her upper chest area." The two other people in her car were not hurt they said.

Officers received a 911 call about the accident and "tracked Ms. Lohan to the local hospital, where she was ultimately placed under arrest" for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

No one else was hurt and no other cars were involved, Foxen said. He did not have other details. Officers went to the scene after receiving a 911 call about the accident, Foxen said. He went on to say that Lohan will have to appear in court to answer the citation.

Lt. McCann said it appeared as if Lohan was speeding and lost control.

In a press conference this afternoon about the arrest of Lindsay Lohan, cops say they found a "usable amount" of a drug they say was cocaine at the scene. Lt. Mitch McCann of the Beverly Hills Police Department would not say where the drug was found but it was "not on her person."

Lohan was cited and released and will have to face a judge.

A rep for Lohan could not be reached for comment.

The World is Free of Paris Hilton For 45 days!

A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in L.A. County jail for violating her probation in a reckless driving case.

Judge Michael T. Sauer even told Paris she will not be allowed work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail.

An emotional Paris, with tears welling up in her eyes, told the judge moments before the decision "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Witnesses inside the courtroom say that Paris' parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, were both visibly upset as the sentence was handed down.

The judge called out her rep Elliot Mintz in court, describing his testimony as "completely worthless." He also told Paris that he did not believe that she was unaware of her license suspension, adding that she had paperwork in her car stating that her license was suspended.

Paris will serve her sentence at the Century Regional Detention Facility (CRDF). She will begin her sentence on June 5. If Hilton fails to report on the scheduled date, her sentence will be doubled. Source

Nicole Richie Charged With DUI

Nicole Richie was charged Friday with misdemeanor driving under the influence. In addition to the single count, the case contains an allegation that Richie had a prior misdemeanor DUI conviction in June 2003, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said.

The California vehicle code specifies that if convicted of DUI twice within 10 years, a person can be sentenced to between 90 days and a year in jail, fined between $390 and $1,000, and have driving privileges suspended.

The complaint alleges Richie was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and an unspecified drug when she was arrested Dec. 11, said prosecution spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons.

Arraignment was scheduled for Feb. 21 in suburban Glendale Superior Court. Richie, who starred in the TV reality show "The Simple Life" with Paris Hilton, does not have to appear because it is a misdemeanor case.

Telephone messages seeking comment from Richie's publicist Nicole Perna were not immediately returned.

Richie, was arrested Dec. 11 after 911 callers reported her car headed the wrong way on a freeway in Burbank about 12:30 a.m. She was found alone in her SUV, stopped in a car-pool lane.

Richie was arrested after she failed a field sobriety test, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Paris Hilton Plead Not Guilty to DUI Charges

Paris Hilton plead not guilty to DUI charges Tuesday in a Los Angeles court. Her attorney made an appearance on her behalf. Hilton, 25, was arrested on Sept. 7 just after midnight for driving erratically in her silver Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren in Hollywood. She scored 0.08 on a Breathalyzer, the minimum blood alcohol level required for a DUI arrest in California.

After Hilton's arrest, her rep, Elliot Mintz, told PEOPLE: "Paris regrets the entire event. It was personally humiliating for her; she is not taking it lightly or frivolously." Following her release from jail, Hilton called in to Ryan Seacrest's L.A. radio show, explaining on-air that she hadn't eaten anything all day and had worked for hours on the set of her new music video. She drank one margarita at an event that evening, she said, and was on her way to a fast-food restaurant when she was pulled over. Asked by Seacrest if she had been driving erratically, Hilton replied, "No, I was just really hungry and I wanted to have an In-N-Out burger!"

The heiress was subsequently charged with two misdemeanors: DUI and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher. Her next court date is slated for Jan. 23. "At this point, I expect the L.A. city attorney will eventually offer her a plea bargain to a lesser charge in which she'll do no jail time, no community service, and just pay a fine," Lawrence Taylor, an L.A.-based attorney and DUI expert told.

Quincy Jones Defends Nicole Richie

Quincy Jones blames Nicole Richie's troubles on the pressures of being in the public eye. "You get caught up in the peer pressure and the hoopla – it's a media frenzy. It's insane. Success doesn't help, Processing success is a major, major, major process."

Jones, who has seven kids – six of them daughters – added, "I try to tell the young kids there are two cardinal rules: You should approach creativity with humility and have your success with grace. It's a gift from God. You don't deserve it. You are a vehicle of a higher power. Don't abuse it."

"I adore Nicole," he said. "I've known her since she was a baby. She's a very smart girl. When she was younger she worked eight hours a day for eight years to become an Olympic figure skater. She's a very talented girl." source

Nicole Takes Drugs for Menstruation Cramps

Nicole Richie is telling friends that the reason she was on the painkiller Vicodin during her recent arrest was to treat menstruation cramps. "She knows she made a mistake, but overall she's in a better place," says a close friend of Richie. "She has come a long way from her heroin days."

The celebutante is said to be upset over media reports that she's addicted to pills, and is insisting to friends that she only "occasionally" takes Vicodin once a month at the start of her menstruation cycle.

Richie is also unhappy that California cops listed her weight at 85 pounds on the police report because "she's so proud of her weight gain," says the source, who adds that Richie has gained about ten pounds in the last two months and actually weighs around 95 pounds. "She doesn't know where the cops came up with 85 pounds and it's annoying to her."

Richie's rep has no comment.
