Jessica SImpson and John Mayer Heading to the Alter?

Jessica Simpson and John Mayer's romance is going so well that they might even get married. The couple was reportedly seen checking out diamond rings at Cartier on March 8 during their six day trip to Rome.

John Mayer has also been telling friends “she’s the one he wants to settle down with,” says a source. “He says, ‘she has all the right ingredients, and she makes me laugh.’”

It’s an unlikely pairing, but apparently he’s found his soul mate: He wanted to have “a wife, a home, a degree of stability” before he turned 30 -- just six months from now!- says the source: “The clock is ticking for him!”

Expect a low-key proposal and a traditional, intimate wedding when their schedules clear up, adds the source.

Howard Stern Engaged

Howard Stern is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, model Beth Ostrosky, he announced on his Sirius Satellite radio show Wednesday. Stern, 53, said that he proposed to Ostrosky, 34, Tuesday night and that she said, "Yes."

"Do you want your Valentine's Day gift now?" Stern said on the air Wednesday, re-enacting his proposal for his listeners. When Ostrosky said she wanted it, Stern says he ordered her to strip down despite her protests that she was too "fat" to do that.

After she said that, Stern says he thought, "Any girl who looks like that and thinks she's fat – I've got a chance with her." Once naked, Ostrosky was given a 5.2 carat diamond ring. "I love you. You're everything to me," Stern said he told her. "This is so gay. ... I'm asking you to spend the rest of your life with me."

Stern also told his radio listeners that the engagement will be a long one, because actually getting married is something that he and Ostrosky can't think about right now. Still, he said that this time the announcement is not a joke. Last month, Stern announced on the air that he and Ostrosky had gotten married, but later revealed it was a prank.

"I am not married. It's a nice feeling that we get along great," he said at the time. "We're very happy and I don't want to f--- it up." This will be first marriage for Ostrosky and the second for Stern, who split from his first wife Alison in 2000.

Fergie Engaged?

The Black Eyed Peas star Fergie is trying to keep her engagement a secret by hiding her ring in her handbag when she's out in public.

She accepted boyfriend Josh Duhamel's wedding proposal just before Christmas, but she doesn't want to make the happy news public until they have set a wedding date.

Apparently, she was showing off her four-carat diamond engagement ring at a pre-Christmas party at film producer Michael Bay's home on 15 December, but has kept it hidden ever since.

Duhamel's representative have denied the engagement news, but a friend of the couple tells Life & Style magazine, "They don't want to announce the engagement until they set a wedding date, but Fergie can't wait to marry Josh."

Paris Hilton Engaged?

Notice the Ring in the picture...

Are Paris Hilton and Stavros Niarchos engaged, or is the attention-starved heirhead pulling another sad publicity ploy? Hilton shocked partygoers Monday night when she arrived at Stacey Bendet's "Black & White" dinner for her clothing line alice+olivia at Katsuya in L.A. wearing a huge diamond ring on her left hand.

She strolled in with her on-again, off-again Greek - and a ring that looked suspiciously like the fake "diamond" solitaire she once claimed former fiancé Paris Latsis gave her. (Latsis actually gave her a smaller ring from Cartier.) Either way, Hilton wasn't being very open about it. The celebutard acted coy when dinner guests asked about Niarchos and the ring.
