Nick Lachey has dismissed the scandal surrounding photographs of his hot-tub frolics with girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo. He would understand the outrage if he was caught with a prostitute, but as he was with his own girlfriend he can't understand the fuss."Where's the scandal? "I was in Mexico with my girlfriend celebrating our first anniversary together on a private vacation. It's not like I was caught with a Mexican hooker. We've all gone out and had a few too many and done something stupid. We've all made mistakes."
Despite laughing off the incident, the singer has still taken legal steps to prevent the explicit photographs from being released.

A lawyer for Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo is trying to keep photos of the couple having sex out of the weekly magazines and off the Internet.
Racy photos of the hot couple were published in this week's Life & Style, showing the two engaged in a heavy makeout session in a jacuzzi at a private resort in Mexico. However, these photos only show part of the fun the couple had.
The rest of the roll shows the two not only making out, but having hardcore sex in the hot tub. A source who has seen the photos tells that they are "Paris sex tape-level scandalous," and include images of the couple in several different sex positions. That's hot!
High-powered Hollywood attorney Marty Singer has sent a letter to the weekly mags, warning them that should they publish the steamy pics, they'll face one mother of a lawsuit. Even Celebrity Dirty Laundry received a notice to remove the pictures from our site!
Singer told the photographer was "outrageous and malicious," adding, "The photos that were taken of our clients by a Mexican photographer violated Mexican law and were a clear invasion of privacy, and we have threatened to take legal action against third parties who publish the photos."

Things seem to be on the rocks for Vanessa Minnillo and nick Lachey. Rumors started to circulate after an incident at the exclusive Plumm nightclub in NYC last night, where a steamed Vanessa Minnillo went off on her wandering-eyed boyfriend, Nick Lachey.Nick and Vanessa arrived to catch Joey McIntyre's impromptu performance at the club, in which he's a part-owner. At one point, Nick was seen with a Jessica Simpson lookalike sitting in his lap. As she got up, the buxom blonde bombshell signaled Nick to call her ... with a blatant thumb and pinky phone gesture. Vanessa caught it and and yelled, "What are you doing?" and a stern, "We need to talk!"
Vanessa then bolted outside. Nick followed and hailed a cab. Vanessa jumped in a different cab, leaving Nick standing alone on the sidewalk. He went over to Ness's cab and a heated exchange followed. The couple finally left in the same cab. A spy close to the twosome told, "Every couple has their spats, they're not going to break up over it."

Nick Lachey has slammed rumors he is planning to propose to MTV presenter Vanessa. Nick told Access Hollywood: "The four-letter word that starts with an 'r' - we are not dealing with that one yet." It was reported in December that Nick had phoned his ex-wife and told her he was marrying again. The 33-year-old was said to have spent 40 minutes explaining his intentions to Jessica, who reportedly struggled to contain her emotions.
However, it now seems Nick and Vanessa - who were reported to be desperate to marry before the end of 2007 - have no plans to take the next big step in their relationship and are content to carry on as they are.

Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey have finally come to an agreement on who gets what in their three-and-a-half year marriage. TMZ obtained documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, revealing that Simpson and Lachey both signed a "written stipulation" on their financial dispute.
The couple was officially divorced last June, however, they were unable at the time to reach an agreement on dividing assets. Jessica and Nick earned a total of $36 million during their marriage. Since there was no prenup, under California's community property laws, each should have walked away with $18 million. Sources told that Jessica offered Nick a scant $1.5 million, which he rejected.
Sources say under the terms of the settlement, Nick will get "significantly" more than $1.5, but far less than $18 million. Nick agreed to the settlement in order to avoid an ugly court battle.
According to legal papers, Simpson and Lachey each filed financial declarations but agreed never to disclose the financial assets of the other.

Nick Lachey has called ex-wife Jessica Simpson to tell her he is getting married again. The singer is planning to marry new girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo and wanted to break the news to his ex-wife himself. He spent 40 minutes on the phone explaining his intentions.According to the National Ledger website, Nick told Jessica: "I'm getting married again Jess and I wanted you to hear it from me." The singer is allegedly hoping to be married by the end of the year.
Despite being the first to file for divorce, Jessica reacted badly to the news. A source said: "She knew Nick and Vanessa were serious, but this threw her. She did her best to contain her emotions."

Nick Lacheyis becoming a part owner of a team – the Tacoma Rainiers franchise, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, he tells People in its new issue. "It had always been a dream of mine to be involved in team sports in general, especially on a local level in your hometown," says Lachey, a self-described "huge baseball fan (who) grew up in Cincinnati, and baseball is kind of a religion there." A couple years ago, the Cincinnati Reds came up for sale, and "I made an attempt to become a part of the ownership," he says. "Unfortunately, it didn't work out, but it certainly reiterated my interest in having some kind of ownership involvement. So, when this opportunity came around, it felt like a great way to get involved." Lachey, also tells the magazine, "Sports is – outside of entertainment – my passion. … Clearly I'm not going to be playing for anybody in my lifetime, so to be involved on the ownership level is the next best thing." (The singer is also starting a basketball team with pal A.J. DiScala.)
Lachey's stake actually makes him one-third owner and active investor in the team. Of his business partners, Bob Schlegal and Kirby Schlegal (of Texas, who led the purchase of the sale), Lachey says: "They are partners in Schlegal Sports and have a lot of experience, especially in minor-league sports." And besides his "getting ready to go back into the studio for a new album," Lachey says his new professional duties will entail his practicing with the team. "That's the biggest perk," he says. "But I certainly don't want to be one of those meddling owners who is trying to give his influence where it's not wanted."
