Jessica Simpson Wants to Save the World

The singer-and-actress wants to have a big family but fears she may not be able to cope with childbirth more than once. She told Britain's Star magazine: "I want to adopt before I actually have my own kids. I want three kids - but I don't know if I can give birth three times. I'll have to see how much pain is involved first time round!"

Jessica, who split from husband Nick Lachey in November 2005, insists she has also been inspired to adopt by Angelina Jolie - who has two adopted children, Maddox and Zahara. She said: "I think Angelina Jolie has done amazing things. The international adoption rate has skyrocketed."

As well as wanting to adopt, Jessica also wants to "save the world". She said: "Ever since I was a kid I said I wanted to save the world somehow, I didn't know how. I think I'll end up doing things that can touch somebody in some way that's good - like through orphanages."

Madonna Has Finally Won Support!

Madonna has won the support of the Malawian government over her treatment of David Banda.

The star, who brought the one-year-old to the UK from his home country of Malawi late last year, faced opposition from human rights groups at the time, with David's father Yohane Banda complaining this week he has had no contact with his child since he was taken.

But the country's principal secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Adrina Mchiela says the Malawian government are delighted with the treatment of the tot.

She says, "We have been monitoring her and so far we see a loving mother in Madonna and David is very fine... the father should not be worried."

Cyrus Jeke, deputy director for Child Welfare, revealed a government official has been assigned to keep a check on David's life with Madonna and husband with the Malawian government being assisted by its British counterparts.

Leonardo DiCaprio has 'adopted' a South African baby girl. While working with orphans in Africa (filming Blood Diamond) he met a unnamed girl in an orphanage and fell in love with her after they talked and played together.

Leonardo has decided to take care of her, but doesn't plan to follow in Angelina Jolie's footsteps - who has two adopted children, daughter Zahara and son Maddox with Brad Pitt - and take the child home with him.

He will not be raising the girl or living with her. Instead, he will continue checking on her progress by chatting to her over the phone and will send her a monthly cheque.

Angelina Jolie Won't Have Problems Adopting

Angelina Jolie insists Madonna knew she would run into trouble by adopting a baby from Malawi because of the country's uncertain adoption laws. Madonna was open to criticism and problems because Malawi has no set guidelines for such cases.

She is quoted by Britain's New magazine: "Madonna knows very well that she adopted from a country without legal adoption, so it was an unusual situation."
Angelina insists she will not make the same mistake as Madonna next time she welcomes an unwanted child into her home. She said: "I don't anticipate that being a problem for me because I don't intend to adopt a child from a country where there is no legal adoption."
